As one of the FASTEST growing Counties in Pennsylvania we are in DESPERATE need
of help in many areas of our service delivery and Unit support! The
following is a current list of openings in our unit. Some provide new skills and
experiences, some require training which will be arranged.

The list includes:
• The
American Red Cross is looking for Blood Drive Coordinators for future blood
drives in the Littlestown, Bonneauville, Biglerville, East Berlin, and New
Oxford areas! If you enjoy talking on the phone and have 6-8 hours to spend
recruiting blood donors every few months, you can help save lives from your
home!

• Assistance in the
office with visitors, phones, filing and other office operations including work
like computer maintenance. Time needed ranges from 2 hours a week up to multiple
hours daily.
• Instructors to
teach public courses in all areas from CPR and First Aid to Pet first aid to
Babysitting to general Health and Safety courses. We have a need for Instructor
trainers as well. Time needed ranges from 12 hours a quarter (after training) up
to multiple hours weekly.
• Membership in
committees such as Volunteer Development including outreach (like this section)
to events like helping with our annual recognition event, Blood Drive/Services
including phone calling, or helping at drives or publicity, Disaster Services
(on call NOT required for all positions, but many on call positions are really
needed), Finance Committee including monitoring reports from accounting and
planning policies, Financial Development (fund raising) positions include
planners and event activities, Youth Services, to help develop support of
programs in the community. Time needed ranges from 2-4 hours a month up to
multiple hours weekly (if involved in multiple events).
• Leadership
positions for Committee Chairpersons (Specific experience in the areas is
NOT required for oversight/management) for Volunteer Services/Development, Blood
Drives/Services, Health and Safety, Youth Programs, and Office Operations
Committees. Time needed averages 8-16 hours a month up to 4-8 hours weekly.
• Board of Advisors
openings for up to 12 people to help monitor and guide (called Governing) the
provided services, office operations and committees reporting to fulfill the
needs of the community. Also, one position to also sit on the York Board is open
at this time. Time needed ranges from 8-12 hours a month up to 16-24 hours a
month.
